Requirements for installation location of VOCs online monitoring system

Source: | Release time:2022-11-14 | Share:

The online monitoring system for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) requires an installation platform. How to install it and where to install it?

1. The installation position should not leak air, located downstream of the fixed pollution source emission control equipment and upstream of the comparison monitoring section, not affected by environmental light and electromagnetic radiation. The vibration amplitude of the flue should be minimized, and the installation position should avoid interference from water droplets and water mist in the exhaust gas as much as possible. If it cannot be avoided, suitable detection probes and instruments should be selected.

2. A waterproof low-voltage distribution box should be installed in the installation work area, equipped with a leakage protector and no less than 2 10A sockets to ensure the power required by the monitoring equipment.

3. A) The length of the sampling or monitoring platform should be ≥ 2m, the width should be ≥ 2m or not less than 1m beyond the length of the sampling gun, and a safety fence of 1.2m or more should be set up around it. There should be sturdy and compliant safety measures to facilitate daily maintenance and comparative monitoring;

b) The sampling or monitoring platform should be easily accessible to personnel and monitoring instruments. When the sampling platform is set at a height of ≥ 2m above the ground, there should be an inclined ladder (or Z-shaped ladder, spiral ladder) leading to the platform with a width of ≥ 0.9m. When the sampling platform is set at a height of ≥ 20m above the ground, there should be an elevator leading to the platform;

c) When the online monitoring system is installed in a rectangular flue, if the height of the flue section is greater than 4m, it is not advisable to open reference method sampling holes on the top layer of the flue; If the width of the flue section is greater than 4m, reference method sampling holes should be opened on both sides of the flue, and multiple sampling platforms should be set up;

d) Reference method sampling holes should be reserved downstream of the monitoring section in the online monitoring system, and the location and number of sampling holes should be determined according to the requirements of GB/T 16157. The inner diameter of the sampling hole for the existing pollution source reference method should be ≥ 80mm, and the inner diameter of the sampling hole for the newly built or renovated pollution source reference method should be ≥ 90mm. Under the premise of not affecting the measurement, the sampling hole for the reference method should be as close as possible to the NMHC-CEMS monitoring section. When the flue is a positive pressure flue or has toxic gas, a sealed sampling hole with a gate valve should be used;

e) If there is no appropriate sampling hole, the sampling tube can be directly inserted into the discharge port for sampling at a depth of 2 times the diameter or 2 meters. If the sampling hole is located at the negative pressure of the discharge pipeline, the sampling tube and the sampling hole should be sealed.

4. Priority should be given to selecting vertical pipe sections and negative pressure areas in the flue to ensure the representativeness of the collected samples. The measurement location should avoid the bends and sharp changes in the cross-section of the flue. For newly built emission sources, the sampling platform should be designed and constructed synchronously with the exhaust device.

5. For the convenience of verifying and comparing the flow rate reference method, the online monitoring system should not be installed in the position where the exhaust gas flow rate in the flue is less than 5m/s.

6. If the exhaust of a fixed pollution source passes through multiple flues or pipelines before entering the main exhaust pipe of the fixed pollution source, the online monitoring system should be installed on the main exhaust pipe as much as possible, but it should be easy to calibrate the monitoring system using reference methods; Monitoring equipment shall not be installed on only one flue or pipeline, and the measured value shall be used as the emission result of that source; But it is allowed to be installed on each flue or pipeline.

7. When the fixed pollution source exhaust gas purification equipment is equipped with a bypass flue, online monitoring or smoke temperature and flow CMS should be installed in the bypass flue, and its installation, operation, maintenance, data collection, recording, and uploading should comply with relevant technical requirements.
