The LUMIX3000 portable biotoxicity analyzer uses advanced luminescent bacteria method for biotoxicity detection. Compared with traditional biological detection methods such as fish, algae, plankton, etc., the luminescent bacteria method is easy to operate, fast, and sensitive. The biotoxicity of drinking water, surface water, and seawater can all be determined. Embedded operating systems provide three testing modes: fast testing mode, basic testing mode, and ATP testing mode. Multiple testing modes can meet different testing needs of customers.

The luminescence process of luminescent bacteria is a physiological metabolic process within the bacterial body, which is a photorespiration process and a side branch of the respiratory chain. The wavelength of this light is around 490nm. This luminescence process is highly susceptible to external conditions, and any factor that interferes with or damages bacterial respiration or physiological processes can cause changes in bacterial luminescence intensity. When toxic and harmful substances come into contact with luminescent bacteria, the toxic substances in the water sample will affect the metabolism of luminescent bacteria, and the decrease in luminescence intensity is proportional to the concentration of toxic substances in the sample. At present, luminescent bacteria method has become a simple and rapid biological toxicity detection method, widely used in quality inspection, environmental monitoring, aquaculture and other fields, and has been included in the international standard ISO11348.

The LUMIX3000 portable biotoxicity analyzer is very convenient for field use, such as in reservoirs, water storage tanks, or any location in your water supply system. The test results can be obtained in a few minutes, and the test data can be stored on the device for later download and analysis. LUMIX3000 is highly suitable for detecting chemical pollution toxicity, as it uses special luminescent bacteria to directly detect sample toxicity while detecting thousands of possible pollutants. If using ATP testing mode, you can quickly determine the number of active organisms in a unit sample.

LUMIX3000 uses the principle of bioluminescence to accurately determine the total biomass in water samples. All living organisms contain ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is their primary energy source. The ATP content in a sample is directly proportional to the number of organisms per unit sample. ATP reacts with luciferin/luciferase, producing one photon per molecule of ATP. The light generated by this reaction can be measured very accurately using LUMIX3000, and this analytical experiment can be used in some critical situations that require rapid determination of biomass, with a wide range of applications.
