Standard Interpretation
The Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the "Technical Guidelines for Detection and Remediation of Volatile Organic Compounds Leakage in Industrial Enterprises" in December 2021, which is an upgraded version of the "Guidelines for Leakage Detection and Remediation in Petrochemical Enterprises". The new standard specifies the technical requirements for project establishment, on-site testing, leak repair, quality assurance and control, and reporting of volatile organic compound leakage detection and repair at sealing points of industrial enterprise equipment and pipeline components.
The general principles, working methods, and technical requirements of the new standard have not fundamentally changed. But it further clarifies the exemption list, personnel requirements, and internal audits, strengthens the main responsibility of enterprises, refines the frequency of testing, and plays a certain promoting role in the LDAR industry.
